Heartsease Cakes was established in 2006 and has been consistently delivering beautiful, tasty luxury, bespoke cakes for a growing number of valued clients all around their region and beyond. 
 
With a growing number of people for whom cakes have been created for many years’ worth of celebrations, mother and son team Nadine & Drew have a real passion for making amazing cakes, and really enjoy the challenges and pleasures that creating unique cakes for people gives them. 
 
When Nadine and Drew set up the business, it was with what some may say is an old-fashioned idea – namely that a business should put you (the customer) first, with your pleasure, enjoyment and satisfaction being essential to them.

This excellence in service begins with taking the best ingredients and using reliable recipes that deliver the great flavours they are renowned for. 
 
Combined with creative designs and a real passion for creating cakes, all put together to create cakes that taste as good as they look! 

SERVICE & CONSULTATION 

When looking to create great cakes the consultation is at the heart of it, and we like to make it as pleasurable as possible. To ensure the best results we will ask you some information prior to our meeting so we can be prepared to make the most of the time together. 
 
We will want to know what cake samples you will want to try and therefore if there are any allergies, intolerances or dietary requirements we need to know about. This gives you the opportunity to sample your preferred cake flavours safely. 
 
We will also want to know the time, date and location of your event, the number of guests and whatever theme or colours you are working with. We will want to know what flower types, style of cake or any other decoration you want included in your cake. 
 
If you have colour swatches, fabric, lace or invitation cards to help us get the best feel for what you are planning for the event, that would also be helpful. 
 
Then over a cuppa in our lovely relaxing consultation room, we can discuss your cake, taste the samples and for the duration you have my undivided attention, so it is all about you and your cake! Following on from the consultation we will get our design hats on and design your dream cake.  
 
Once you are happy with the design, we book you in and the deposit is required. 
 
There is a non-refundable consultation cost of £XXX which becomes part of the deposit when the cake gets booked.

SIGNATURE FLAVOURS 

Our signature flavours are a result of the marriage of the best ingredients sourced as local as possible and really good recipes with some passion from us.  
 
We can create equally great tasting cakes for those with allergies to Gluten and/or dairy, as well as nut allergies. We also make cakes for vegans. 
 
For those without a dairy allergy, most of our cake flavours can be covered in a luxurious rich ganache coating, instead of the American frosting, before covering in the best quality Fondant.

Fruity Flavours 
Lemon Sponge 
Made with fresh lemons and filled with our homemade lemon curd and a delicious American frosting. Moist and tasty with just the right balance of sharp and sweet. 
Lemon & Elderflower Sponge 
Made with fresh lemons and filled with lemon curd and a subtle elderflower American frosting. 
Orange Sponge 
Made with fresh oranges and filled with our homemade orange curd and American frosting. 
Vanilla Sponges 
Jam & Vanilla 
Made with Madagascan vanilla, this moist sponge is filled with either our homemade strawberry or raspberry jam and vanilla American frosting. 
Jam & Rosewater 
Made with Madagascan vanilla, this unusual sponge is filled with raspberry jam and a rosewater American frosting. 
Blackberry & Vanilla 
Made with Madagascan vanilla, this moist sponge is filled with our homemade blackberry jam and vanilla American frosting. 
Chocolate & Vanilla 
Made with Madagascan vanilla, this decadent sponge is filled with white chocolate cream, with the option to have crushed cookies in the chocolate cream filling to add a further dimension. 
Chocolate Sponges 
Chocolate & Caramel Sponge 
If chocolate is your passion, then this has to be the ultimate taste! Made with organic chocolate and filled with a rich caramel American frosting. 
Red Velvet Sponge 
Made from a traditional American recipe, this chocolate cake with a difference is filled with either vanilla American frosting or delicious white chocolate cream, with the option to have crushed Oreo biscuits or pecan nuts in it. 
Chocolate Sponge 
Made with organic chocolate, this moist and tasty cake is filled with either Madagascan vanilla or rich chocolate American frosting. 
Chocolate & Mint Sponge 
Made with organic chocolate, this minty treat will be popular with lovers of a chocolate and mint combo. It is filled with a mint American frosting. 
Chocolate & Orange Sponge 
Made with organic chocolate and fresh oranges, and filled with chocolate and orange American frosting. A treat for those who love Terry’s chocolate oranges! 
Other Sponges 
Almond Sponge 
This unusual sponge cake is a delight for those who love almond flavours. The almond sponge is filled with our homemade apricot, raspberry or black cherry jam and American frosting. 
Coffee & Walnut Sponge 
If you love coffee, you will love our traditional coffee and walnut cake! Moist coffee sponge with crushed walnuts and filled with a cappuccino American frosting. Note: Walnuts can be left out if required. 
Coffee Sponge Twist 
If you fancy a coffee sponge with a difference, then why not try our coffee sponge twist, filled with a rich caramel American frosting. 
Fruit Cakes 
Carrot Cake 
Made from an old family recipe, this unusual carrot cake is great as a pudding to eat hot, as well as a cake. It is filled with Madagascan vanilla American frosting, and is a perfect alternative to more traditional fruit cake. 
Light Fruit Cake 
If you want a bit of tradition but don't like the traditional heavy dark fruit cake so often associated with Christmas, then our light fruit cake is a winner! It is more like a spiced sponge cake with loads of mixed dried fruit, which has been soaked in brandy or flavoured tea. There is the option to have crushed nuts or glaze cherries as well. This cake is covered with our homemade apricot jam and marzipan, before covering with fondant. 
Traditional Fruit Cake 
If tradition is what you're after then our dark, rich fruit cake fits the bill. This cake contains loads of mixed dried fruit, which has been soaked in brandy or flavoured tea, with the option to have crushed nuts as well. It is covered with our homemade apricot jam and marzipan, before covering with fondant. 

DESIGN 

When designing a cake, it comes down to three areas of consideration, and not all three will be required on all cakes. 
 
In some cases, it is all about the sugar flowers and the cake is there to place them on. Other cakes are the star of the show and there is little or no need for flowers. 
 
These are facts which will have been discussed at the consultation and brought into our design ideas.
